Resiliency Vision: The Baffin Bay Fire Station & Shelter
RxDx is proud to begin work on the groundbreaking Baffin Bay Fire Station & Shelter, the critical first phase of a multi-project initiative for Kleberg County. This project represents a triumph of advocacy and strategic planning, years after the initial funding challenge following Hurricane Harvey.
The Journey: Advocacy and Resiliency
Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid pointed out the path to this groundbreaking was complex, starting years ago with a specific land office grant. The funding was initially earmarked for hurricane-related mitigation, but the county, led by Judge Madrid and Commissioners, strategically secured funding for the Fire Station and a Shelter of Last Resort. RxDx is honored to execute a project borne from such determined advocacy.
Project Scope: Strategic Infrastructure
The new Baffin Bay Fire Station & Shelter facility is strategically located near the heart of the Baffin Bay community, addressing critical needs identified by the county:
Fire Station: Providing a permanent, high-quality base for the dedicated Fire Department staff, enhancing daily operations and training.
Shelter of Last Resort: Offering a safe harbor for non-evacuees during severe weather events, filling a crucial safety gap.
RxDx is committed to delivering a top-tier facility that meets the high standards and complex needs of Kleberg County, ensuring this new station enhances the operational capabilities of the Fire Department for decades.
